At Westborough we have very high standards, and that begins with personal presentation – we have a uniform, including a blazer, for all pupils. We believe this is important for three reasons:

  1. There is less pressure on parents to buy the latest fashions.
  2. There are fewer distractions – pupils are here to learn.
  3. It fosters a sense of pride in the school.

Girls’ Uniform

  • An optional head-scarf (plain navy-blue with the school colour braiding ).
  • A school blazer.
  • An optional jumper/tank-top (only the two school styles available from the school uniform stockist).
  • A white shirt/blouse with a collar, and a clip-on school tie.
  • A plain navy-blue knee-length skirt (with optional navy tights); navy trousers; shalwar kameez; or a plain navy pinafore dress.
  • A pair of flat, plain black, shoes without decorations. Trainers and pumps are not allowed.
  • Girls can wear one pair of small gold or silver stud earrings (one in each ear), and a single wristwatch – no other jewellery is allowed.
  • Make-up and nail varnish should not be visible.
  • Hair decorations are not allowed, only plain pins and clips, and plain dark headbands.

Boys’ Uniform

  • A school blazer.
  • An optional jumper/tank-top (only the two school styles available from the school uniform stockist).
  • A white shirt with a collar, and clip-on school tie.
  • Plain navy-blue trousers.
  • Flat black shoes (no trainers or sports shoes).
  • No lines or patterns shaved into their hair.

Girls’ PE Kit

  • A navy and purple rugby top, with the school logo.
  • A white PE blouse, with the school logo.
  • Plain navy-blue shorts.
  • Navy knee-length football socks.
  • Two pairs of trainers, one indoor, and one outdoor – no ankle boots or pumps.
  • Hockey or football boots for outdoor PE lessons.
  • Where, for religious reasons, girls wish to keep their legs covered, a plain navy tracksuit can replace navy-blue shorts.

Boy’s PE Kit

  • Students will know whether their lesson will be inside or outside.
  • In winter:
    • A navy and purple rugby top, with the school logo.
    • Trainers – no ankle boots.
    • Plain navy shorts.
    • Plain navy socks.
    • Plain black/blue tracksuit.
    • Bottoms (December-February only).
    • Football boots.
    • Shin pads.
    • A towel.
  • In summer:
    • A plain round-necked white top.
    • Plain white shorts.
    • Plain white socks.
    • Trainers – no ankle boots.
    • Shin pads.
    • A towel.

School Equipment

Every pupil is expected to provide the following basic items:

  • Two pens.
  • A pencil.
  • A rubber.
  • A ruler.
  • A pencil sharpener.
  • Coloured pencils/felt tip pens.
  • A pencil case and school bag.
  • A calculator.
  • A protractor.
  • A pair of compasses.
