Instrument of Government for Westborough High School

  1. The name of the School is Westborough High School.
  2. The school is a [foundation school with a foundation/ a qualifying foundation school] (i.e. a Trust School).
  3. The name of the governing body is The Governing Body Westborough High School.
  4. The governing body shall consist of:
    1. Head Teacher
    2. 2 Parent Governors
    3. 1 LA Governor
    4. 1 Staff Governors
    5. 8 Foundation Governors (see point 6) (a majority of the governing body) of whom 2 shall, at the time of their appointment, be eligible for election or appointment as parent governors.)
  5. Total number of governors is 13.
  6. Foundation governors will be appointed by the Dewsbury Learning Trust.
  7. The term of office for all governors is 4 years.
  8. This instrument of government comes into effect on 1 September 2015.
  9. This instrument was made by order of Kirklees Local Authority (Instrument of Government) No. 60 Order 2015.
  10. A copy of the instrument must be supplied to every member of the governing body (and the head teacher, if not a governor)
