On Wednesday 12th December, Westborough students enjoyed the first Curriculum Enrichment Day of this academic year. The theme for the day was ‘My Future’ with students from Year 7 to 11 taking part in a range of inspirational and thought-provoking activities.
Several guest speakers and facilitators delivered sessions on a variety of issues, from community cohesion through sports to a career in the army. Despite the diverse array of sessions on offer, one common question continually arose throughout the day: ‘how could this newfound knowledge improve my prospects?’
Students were a credit to the school in the way that they behaved and engaged with the activities on offer. We are already looking forward to our next Curriculum Enrichment Day and hope to see some of our fantastic guests back at Westborough.
Our Head Girl, Head Boy and prefects aided the smooth running of the day and continue to prove themselves as role-models for their peers.
We would like to say a huge thank you to the following guests:
- Rebecca, events manger from Trinity Leeds
- Henrik, coach from Bramwell Sports
- Sam, engineer from Telstar
- Locala Sexual Health
- Bradford College
- Chris Hyliger, youth worker
- National Citizen Service
- University of Leeds Educational Outreach
- Yorkshire Regiment, British Army
