At Westborough we provide a very happy and relaxed atmosphere in which all our students feel valued and cared for as individuals. We work in close partnership with you, their parents, to help them achieve a high level of personal academic and personal success. We welcome students from all cultures, backgrounds and beliefs, and our commitment to equal opportunities is reflected in all aspects of school life. With an extensive range of excellent facilities we are confident that the quality of education we can provide rivals and exceeds many schools, both locally and nationally.
Each student is encouraged to take part in our exciting out of school activities which range from rock climbing to music and theatre visits and various sporting events. We place great importance on the development of the whole person. Westborough has an excellent reputation for projects involving the local community, resulting in many prestigious local and national awards.
HMI and Ofsted inspectors have consistently said that Westborough High School is an outstanding school, “where truth and justice are an integral part of the Westborough ethos.” They were highly impressed with the discipline, relationships, standards of teaching and pastoral care. In addition they recognised our improvement in standards. "the school has improved its GCSE results very significantly and at a rate above the national average."
We are proud of our success and delighted when Westborough was one of only 50 High schools to be included in HMCI’s 1998 list of outstanding schools, first awarded Beacon School status in 1999, reconfirmed in June 2002 and an achievement award for a substantial improvement in GCSE results in 2000.
