Arrangements for the admission of students with disabilities

Parents of students with disabilities are welcome to apply for admission in the normal way.  However, it is advisable to visit the school and discuss any specific requirements and our ability to provide for them.  A final application is made e.g. successful integration recently of students on the autistic spectrum and with physical mobility difficulties.  Westborough High School is a school that looks at the specific needs of the individual and responds with practical solutions.

Westborough High School has an active Equal Opportunities Policy, which aims to combat discrimination in all forms.  We aim to create an environment in school, which enables each individual pupil to progress and strive for excellence regardless of ethnicity, gender or ability.  These aims are embedded in the culture of the school and are reinforced with the curriculum and through assemblies.

Disabled access to Westborough High School is limited to certain ground floor areas.  The original structure of the building currently prevents access for students with certain types of disability to first, second and third floor areas of the school.  However, we are taking a lead role in the Local Education Authorities Disability Discrimination Act policy.
