We believe that we provide a very high quality comprehensive education for students aged 11-16. We continue to offer a variety of pathways to academic success, meeting the needs of every student and allowing them to develop their talents and abilities to the full in an environment that values them all as individuals.
From September 2008, we are a specialist college for Business Enterprise and Performing Arts. These subjects will not dominate our curriculum but they will give us the opportunity to use the skills our staff have in these areas to develop our students into creative and enterprising young people – and to enhance their performance.
We are committed to learning success for all – students, staff and the wider community and aim to enable all who learn with us to achieve to the best of their ability. We wish to be a true community school, for the benefit of the whole community rather than just a school in the community.
We expect our students to work hard. We expect our parents to support us in encouraging their children to develop the competencies and skills needed to achieve success. We want to work in partnership with parents, guardians and carers to ensure that we build together the positive home-school relationships.
For those of you who know us well, it goes without saying that the care and guidance that children are given at our school is outstanding and was judged as this by Ofsted in our 2006 inspection.
It will be our privilege to work closely with the families of all our students to try to ensure that they all enjoy and achieve and make a successful transition from school into adult and working life.
