MATHEMATICS

What happens in Year 7

A world of mathematics awaits you!  Through discussion, practical and
investigation activities you will soon discover that mathematics is fascinating and
fun and we aim to lay the foundation of a life long interest in the subject.

You will be taught in a setted ability group with some members of your form and
have 4 lessons of mathematics every week.

What happens in Years 10 & 11?

Students continue their studies of mathematics until at the end of Year 11.  You
will be entered at either Foundation or Higher level at GCSE.  Our
team of dedicated specialists are here to help you achieve at GCSE standards.

How do we help you achieve your potential?

All maths classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards.

Staff are on hand to help with classwork, homework and coursework. 

You will be closely monitored and assessment procedures are thorough.  The
mathematics staff are fully committed to raising the standards of numeracy.

How can you help at home?

The basic skills in mathematics can be applied to a number of everyday situations.
Your family can encourage you to use basic skills when shopping or travelling.
Your family can also check your weekly mathematics homework.
