WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

The course will appeal to those of you who are interested in following a career in construction and who would like to progress on to further study in this area after school.

WHAT WILL I DO ON THE COURSE?

You will learn about:
The basic tools, equipment and materials used in trowel, joinery and painting and decorating trades.
The practical skills involved in basic trowel, joinery and painting and decorating trades.
Safe working practices.

HOW DO I GET ON THIS COURSE?

Students should have a keen interest in working in Construction
A good report from your school including good attendance and punctuality.
An aim to achieve at least grade E at GCSE

WHAT WILL I ACHIEVE?

On successful completion of the course you will achieve an Edexcel Entry Level certificate from the Practical Skills pathway of the Entry Level Certificate in Skills for Working Life

HOW WILL THE COURSE BE ASSESSED?

This course is continually assessed, much of it practically based. 

WHAT CAN I DO AFTER THE COURSE?

After the course you can continue to gain qualifications in the construction area of work progressing onto a level 1 or level 2 courses and then gain work in the construction trade

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?

You need to have an interest in wanting to learn practical building and carpentry skills.
